Do you want to play one of the traditional Korean games Yut? People used to play it in the past. Today, we play the game on a Lunar New Year's Day or Chuseok, Thanksgiving Day of Korea when all family members gather. It is played with four wooden sticks, markers, and a game board.
The marker moves as many times as the number indicated by the four wooden sticks cast. If only one wooden stick over and three sticks up, it's called "do." Two sticks up and two sticks over is called "gae." One stick up and three sticks over is called "geol." All sticks over is called "yut." All sticks up is called "mo." "Do" is worth one space advancement. "Gae" is worth two space advancement. "Geol" can move three spaces, while "yut" can move four spaces. "Mo" is equivalent to the move of five spaces.
Markers start with a total of three. It's okay to move any marker between the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd markers. If you meet the marker of your team in the same place, you can move together from next time on.. However, if you meet the opponent's marker in the same place, the marker that was there first must return to its starting position.
There's a shortcut on the board. You can take a shortcut only when you're at the crossroads (fork). By applying all the rules above, the team or a person making the first turn with the markers wins in the game.
Do you want to know where you can buy Yut? You can find it at supermarkets or online shopping malls. The price depends on quality and size.
