Korea has four distinct seasons. Spring starts in March and ends in May. Summer is from June to August, while fall is from September to November. Winter is from December to February. However, the influence of global warming makes the division of seasons blurrier every year. This summer, we have a lot of rain, which is quite unusual. At the end of the rainy season, a huge typhoon can sometimes pass.
Tornadoes are often observed in the United States. However, tornadoes in Korea are less strong and last shorter than those of the States. However, the typhoon can be dangerous for it brings excessive rain and wind. Therefore, you must be well-prepared for that.
When a strong typhoon makes landfall, we are exposed to suspension of water and electricity. To prepare for this situation, it is advisable to make items such as emergency food and a flashlight available at home. Try to keep your bicycle and scooter inside the house since they can fly away. To protect the windows against being broken, use some tape to make a letter X and make sure that it is firm enough.
We do advise you to make the first-aid kit available in your house, in preparation for any unexpected accidents. When it is very rainy and windy, it is difficult to spend time outside with your children. Try to find a way to have fun with them inside the house. :-)
When you drive, slow down and remember to drive safely!
