Pyeongtaek has restaurants offering food from all over the world. Today, we will introduce food from the Republic of South Africa. South Africa's signature dishes include bobotie (minced beef and lamb baked and topped with eggs), air-dried steak biltong, and sausages such as boerewors and bangers. Braai Republic is a restaurant that serves a wide variety of South African food.
First started in Itaewon, Braai Republic was showcased on a TV show and became famous as a gourmet restaurant. Now, they opened a branch in Pyeongtaek. The signature dishes are Meat Platter and Full Rack, as South Africa is known for its beef and lamb cuisine. The meat platter includes two lamb chops, two sausages, fries, corn salad, and coleslaw. Priced at 33,000 won, this crowd favorite is cooked on the grill and has the authentic barbecue flavor.
Prawn Salad with four plump, jumbo prawns and veggies is another beloved item (15,000 won). To eat meat and veggies together, we recommend Lamb Sweet, which includes lamb chops, mashed potato, and basil salad (23,000 won). For an authentic South-African soup, try their bean soup served with bread.
It's easy to order at Braai Republic as they have an English menu available. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and is open from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM with a break between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. During weekends, they operate without a break.
