Have you ever wondered about how Koreans do their skincare? Many Koreans are interested in skincare and know their routine. Some are just born with great skin, but more people have gained their porcelain-like skin through skincare. Today, we will be looking at how Koreans take care of their skin. Let’s take a look at the steps.
- After a day with makeup or sunscreen on, you must deep cleanse your face. Use eye and lip makeup removers to take off makeup on your eyes and lips, and gently massage your face using cleansing oil, water, or cream to unclog pores and reduce blackheads and blemishes!
2. CLEANSER
- Once the makeup has melted off, use a cleanser to wipe your face. It is recommended to use a mild cleanser or wash the face with water in the morning.
3. EXFOLIATOR
- The suggested number of uses for exfoliating skin is 2-3 times per week. Reduce the numbers to once a week if your skin is sensitive.
4. TONER
- Toner helps to remove any leftovers on your face after cleansing. Pour toner on cotton pads and clean your skin, and make sure to use gel toner if you have dry skin.
5. LOTION&EYECARE
- Eye creams are typically used to help with eye wrinkles and darkening. Lightly apply lotion after toner and dot eye cream under your eyes (from the inner corner of your under-eye to the outside of your eye).
6. ESSENCE
- Essence helps with various skin troubles. Try using essence to reduce wrinkles, darkening, or blemishes!
7. FACE MASK
- Koreans enjoy putting on facial masks for skin care. Accordingly, a variety of facial masks are offered in stores, ranging from the low-priced to premium lines. It may be a good idea to purchase inexpensive ones for daily use. When you are putting on a facial mask, make sure you take it off after 10-15 minutes.
8. MOISTURIZER
- Finish your routine with face moisturizers. Try using nourishing moisturizer or hydrating moisturizer, depending on your skin type. In Korea, all skincare products are labeled to categorize themselves for different skin types, including dry skin, oily skin, and combination type skin. Know your skin type and learn them in Korean, so you can get the right skincare products for yourself!
There are many cosmetic stores in Korea. If you are interested in purchasing several products at once, we recommend you try visiting Olive Young or Lalavla (they feature multiple brands, similar to Sephora)!
