Leembae Made : Baking Class! [PIEF Foreign Reporter]

We went to Leembae Made in the beginning of June. We signed up for the deluxe class and were able to make two different types of cakes, Madeleine and Financier. We were able to make 2 flavors of each type of cake. The Madeleines were black sesame seed and lemon and the Fanancier cakes were vanilla and chocolate with Oreo. You can choose to make a number of other baked goods including, macarons, scones, dacquoises, and cookies.

I loved going to this little bakery class, the size is limited because of Covid restrictions, but you and three friends can attend class here. Our teacher had everything already portioned out. And tools for every workstation. After arriving and checking in we were given a complementary drink and they ranged from coffees, to teas, and smoothies.

After getting our drinks we were given gloves and disposable aprons and everyone was ready to start baking. I went with my friend who speaks Korean and English fluently and she provided interpretation services. However, the instructor is so clear in her demonstrations and visual guidance that I would feel confident going to class without an interpreter.

My 9 year old son came with me, he is my helper in the kitchen at home and really wanted to come make cakes with me. Our instructor worked well with Henry and he was able to make his own set of cakes. Henry struggled to sift the flour with the provided sieve and our instructor went and got a flour sifter that was easier for him to use. She empowered him to bake, even with a few spill mishaps.

While our first set of cakes were baking we started on the second batch so class moved along at a good pace. When all the cakes were completed after cooling and tasting we were provided bags to seal our little cakes in and we divided them three ways. I enjoyed going to class here, it was fun to be able to bake without any of the worry with cleaning up or searching for ingredients.
