Different regions of Korea sell their own local gift certificates. The purpose of these are to promote local businesses. Pyeongtaek City also sells ‘Pyeongtaek Sarang(love) Gift Certificates.’ Pyeongtaek Sarang Gift Certificates are currently being sold at a special 10% discount to help promote the local economy suffering from COVID-19! These gift certificates can be purchased at any of the 54 Nonghyup bank branches in Pyeongtaek.
Up to 200,000 KRW worth of the gift certificates can be purchased in one month per person. Pyeongtaek Sarang Gift Certificates can be used at traditional markets, local shopping centers or at small local businesses. However, it cannot be used at large stores, franchise stores, bars and clubs.
When using over 80% of the value of the gift certificate, the remaining balance can be returned to you in cash. Please note that purchasing the gift certificate is only allowed in cash! Nonghyup bank branches may have different amount of gift certificates, so if the one you visit does not have enough, visit another branch!
