Have you ever tried a Chinese food called malatang? Malatang is a new rage among young Koreans who are attracted by the uniqueness of Chinese spice. The newly opened Chinese restaurant Lahongbang in Pyeongtaek is a famous nationwide franchise.

Malatang costs 1,700 KRW per 100g and mala xiang guo costs 3,000 KRW per 100g. If you would like to try some guo bao rou, you should pay 15,000 KRW! If you prefer the smaller size, there is a mini-size of gua bao rou for 10,000 KRW. In addition, egg fried rice can be served at 6,000 KRW. To-go is available for orders over 10,000 KRW, and a doggy bag is 500 KRW.


Before eating malatang or mala xiang guo, you should choose ingredients based on your taste. Fill the prepared bowl with your favorite ingredients and select the spicy level at the counter. The spicy level ranges from 0 to 3. You can also add beef or lamb for extra proteins! Once you make an order, you will be given an order slip! The restaurant also sells a limited amount of the premium sparerib malatang per day.
