Pyeongtaek has a lot to offer when it comes to park. As the Autumn season is approaching, and is known as season of reading, we would like to introduce Picnic Garden which has a reading shelter and different features for you and your family.

Picnic Garden is a waterfront park in Gung-ri, Godeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si in 2013. In 2018, the landscape of the park was renovated and the vacant area was replaced by four themes, (Ihwa's Garden, Rainbow Garden, Garden of Light, Tweet tweet Garden. Each theme has unique landscape and a different night view through landscape lighting at night. You can experience and feel nature on the waterfront deck, promenade, playground, and various rest areas. There are many benches and tables in the park, so it is optional to bring your mat.
Reading shelter |
Reading shelter is located between Ewha's Garden and Rainbow Garden. Books are provided in this area. The shelf is at the corner where you can find Children's books and literature books. These books are free to read and doesn't need to rent or buy. The shelter provides four large benches and a connected space with swings. This spot is a good place to read since the site is in front of a lake with fountain. You are also free to bring your own book and enjoy reading it within this area or wherever part of the garden.

Picnic Garden has a lot to offer like these shady spot to enjoy reading. There are also playgrounds for kids and an area where they can enjoy playing sand without going to beach. Other themes also offers big spaces for picnics, walking, playing and camping. and as for writing this article, camping site is unavailable due to Covid-19 precautions.

FEE: Free admission except camping site.
FACILITIES: Free parking lot, Information office, Convenience store, restrooms with Baby changing stations, pathway for wheelchairs, bicycle, and strollers.
CAUTION: Wear facemask, animal leash recquired, no cooking, no collecting of plants, no littering and put back books after reading.
