Grilled jumbo shrimp is one of the most popular fall food in Korea. Shrimps caught in fall are especially great because the texture is amazing. Today’s featured restaurant is ‘Bada-Sesang’ located at Tongbok Market. Bada-Sesang provides a variety of seafood including grilled jumbo shrimp, grilled gizzard shad and raw fish! So, come order the grilled jumbo shrimp and other seafood that you would like to try!
Jumbo shrimp costs 50,000 KRW per kilogram. The shrimp will be served on top of the aluminum foil that is covered with salt. All you have to do is put the lid on top of the dish and let it grill. Once the shrimp turns to the delicious orange color, wear the plastic gloves that the staff gives you. Then, peel the shrimp and enjoy eating! Many Koreans often dip grilled shrimps in chogojujang (red chili-pepper paste with vinegar)!
Once you are done with the shrimp, the staff will grill the shrimp head in butter. Butter-grilled shrimp head is the perfect combination with the Korean alcohol, soju. This is quite popular thanks to its savory taste and crispy texture.
Bada-Sesang is open every day from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Please note that hours may be subject to change due to social distancing rules!
