Beat the Heat with These Eats: Seoul Myeonok

The weather continues to be hot and humid these days. To fight the heat, Koreans eat naengmyeon, or cold noodles, to cool down in the summer. Let us introduce Seoul Myeonok, a restaurant specializing in Korea’s signature summer dish.

Seoul Myeonok is located right in front of Pyeongtaek Station so it’s very easy to find.
At Seoul Myeonok, you can order mulnaengmyeon (cold noodle soup), bibimnaengmyeon (spicy noodles), steamed beef ribs, meat dumplings, and grilled bulgogi. Unlike other restaurants that only sell naengmyeon as a summer seasonal memu, this place offers dishes all year round.

Seoul Myeonok’s signature dishes, mulnaengmyeon and bibimnaengmyeon, are quite mild (not extremely spicy). They pair very well with steamed beef ribs or dumplings.

Seoul Myeonok is open from 11:30 to 20:30 daily, and the break is between 15:00 and 17:00.

Let’s go and try a bowl of naengmyeon, the quintessential Korean summer dish!
