With the hot weather being amongst us, many may taking advantage of their air conditioners to stay cool. However, are you maintaining your air conditioner properly? In case you didn’t know, microorganisms live in the filter and heat exchanger. This can be an issue for they can spread into the air and cause infectious diseases or allergies. Thus, it is highly recommended that you maintain it thoroughly. Today, we’ll look at how to properly maintain an air conditioner during the summer.

① After turning on the air conditioner, keep the windows open for about five minutes to blow molds out of the premise.

② It is recommended that you clean the filter at least once every two weeks. The filter is filled with pollutants as it filters out dust. That’s why we recommend cleaning them regularly.

③ Make sure that there aren’t any molds in the cooling fins. Spray water on the cooling fin and wipe it off with a cleaning brush.

④ For air conditioners in cars, turn off the air conditioners five minutes prior to arriving at your destination and switch it to external circulation mode. If you keep the air conditioner on until you stop the engine, mold may grow due to the moisture (condensation). Therefore, it is good to keep the inside of air conditioner dry.

We hope you have a healthy summer by maintaining air conditioners at home and while driving. Thank you!
