Starting from 4 a.m. on July 1, the base fare for medium-sized taxis in Gyeonggi Province will undergo a revision. According to the '2023 Gyeonggi-do Taxi Fare Rate Adjustment Implementation Plan’, the base fare will increase by 1,000 won, rising from the current 3,800 won to 4,800 won.
The previous rate of 3,800 won for a 2.0-kilometer journey will be revised to 4,800 won for a 1.8-kilometer distance. Notably, the distance and time fares, as well as the off-clock surcharges, will remain unchanged. Additionally, adjustments will be made to the late-night hours and surcharges. The late-night service period will be shifted from 24:00 to 04:00 to 23:00 to 04:00, accompanied by an increase in the surcharge from 20% to 30%.
City officials, the Pocheon Private Taxi Association, and taxi companies have expressed their dedication to improving service quality and prioritizing the well-being of taxi drivers amidst the fare adjustment. They aim to address potential concerns and ensure citizens are well-informed, thus minimizing confusion transition to the adjust surrounding the revised taxi fares.
