Creator’s Insight: Haetsal Nongwon, where you can feel nature

My family and I used to live in the sunny, warm city of San Diego, California. One notable thing about San Diego is that it is a city right next to the beach. With its warm weather all year round, it really is no surprise to find people at the beach or in the water in any season, even in winter. But not every city has the luxury of spending a hot summer day in the cool ocean water, such as Pyeongtaek. One thing I often did with my family and friends in San Diego is persimmon picking. 

Here in Pyeongtaek, there are farms all over the city with various kinds of produce. One specific farm, only about five minutes from my house, is Haetsal Nongwon. Haetsal Nongwon not only allows you to witness the beauty of the fruits but also offers a hands-on experience of fruit picking, which is an activity suitable for visitors of all ages.

Currently, they have blueberries in beautiful shades of blue, apple mangoes, dragon fruit, and an incredible amount of delicious passion fruit. Even if you choose not to buy anything, just walking around and experiencing the huge expanse of fruits is fascinating. You can even ask for a free sample of a freshly picked passion fruit or a glass of homemade passion fruit juice, which is super refreshing and delicious. The burst of flavors in your mouth is both refreshing and delightful, leaving you wanting more.

Although fruit picking is something you can do at any season, going in the summer is especially necessary to try summer-exclusive treats. Selling their produce at reasonable prices, interacting with the welcoming farmers, and taking a moment to step outside fit is such a fun experience to try out when visiting Pyeongtaek. 

Pyeongtaek might not be the sunny beach city of San Diego, but it has its own allure that draws you in and leaves you enchanted. Fruit picking at Haetsal Nongwon is just one of the many activities this delightful city offers. From exploring diverse farms to connecting with welcoming farmers, a visit to Pyeongtaek promises unforgettable experiences.
