Pyeongtaek City will host the 103rd Children’s Day celebration on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Ichung Sports Park Plaza. Open to all residents, the event promises a fun-filled day of creativity, learning, and entertainment for families and children of all ages.
This year’s festivities include a drawing contest, children’s song competition, military band performance, traditional games, a sports zone, stage shows, and a variety of hands-on activity booths.
The program begins with pre-ceremony performances by a military band and dance teams, followed by an official opening ceremony. Stage events will include taekwondo demonstrations, a children’s musical, interactive massage sessions with parents, a bubble show, and more.
The sports zone offers activities for all age groups, including skateboarding, Nerf gun shooting, bumper car RC rides, and traditional Korean games. Younger children can enjoy mini basketball and soccer, Velcro baseball, and toss games.
Specialty booths will feature:
Market Booths: DIY mini cakes, wish bracelet making, and more
Career Booths: Police roleplay for school violence prevention, pediatric therapy demos, and more
Experience Booths: Musical instrument zone, VR fairy tale library, and more
Children can also participate in a stamp tour. After collecting stamps from designated stations, they’ll receive a special treasure prize (while supplies last).
Due to expected large crowds, attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.
