On Friday, July 25, Pyeongtaek Police resumed joint patrols with U.S. military police in key areas including Anjeong-ri Rodeo Street in Paengseong and the Sinjang Shopping Mall district in Songtan. A total of 22 personnel participated, including 10 U.S. military police officers and units from the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police.
Joint patrols between Korean police and U.S. military police are part of ongoing efforts to promote public safety and cooperation in areas with a high presence of both Korean citizens and U.S. military personnel.
In June, Pyeongtaek Police and U.S. Forces Korea held a meeting with representatives from Osan Air Base (K-55) to strengthen collaboration. During this meeting, both sides agreed to resume joint patrol activities.
The patrols will now take place every Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to midnight. With several major U.S. military installations in the area, including Camp Humphreys, these patrols aim to support a safe and harmonious community environment by enhancing communication and preventing incidents.
Authorities hope the renewed partnership will contribute to building mutual trust and ensuring a secure atmosphere for all residents and visitors in the region.
