New Nu (뉴누) is a hands-on soap-making workshop in Godeok where children and adults can design and craft their own handmade soap, choosing everything from the shape and color to the scent and recipe based on their skin type.
The studio offers two types of classes. The MP (melt-and-pour) class is recommended for children aged 5 and up, making it an ideal outing for younger kids. Participants melt a pre-made soap base and customize it with colors, fragrances, and molds in fun shapes such as hearts, bears, and flowers.
The CP (cold process) class is geared more toward adults and older participants, covering the full soap-making process from scratch, including selecting oils based on skin type and planning the soap design. Both classes run for approximately one hour and are guided by an instructor who adapts the explanations to each participant’s age and skill level.
Finished soaps are packaged and ready to take home, making them a lovely keepsake or gift. CP soaps require a curing period of about one month before use, during which the studio handles the cutting and finishing process on your behalf.
Classes are available on weekends and on weekday evenings starting from 5 PM. Reservations are required and can be made via Naver or by phone.
