If you're looking for a hands-on activity that appeals to all ages, La Tteul (라뜰도예) in Bijeon-dong is worth a visit. This cozy pottery studio welcomes everyone from young children to adults, and the instructor is known for being patient and genuinely encouraging with younger students.
From the moment you walk in, the space feels special. Every shelf is lined with handmade ceramics, all created and painted by the instructor herself.
Three one-day class options are available. The hand-painting class is the most accessible, especially for younger children. For 35,000 KRW, participants can spend 60 minutes painting directly onto a ceramic piece, with no shaping required. The hand-building class is ideal for families who want to create something from scratch, such as cups, bowls, or small dishes. The 55,000 KRW fee includes all materials and firing. For those feeling adventurous, the wheel-throwing class allows participants to shape two pieces on a pottery wheel for 70,000 KRW, with all materials and firing included. Regular monthly courses are also available for anyone interested in pursuing pottery as an ongoing hobby.
Finished pieces go through a firing process after the session and are ready for pickup once completed. Reservations are required and are best made through Naver Maps. Parking is available behind the studio or at the nearby Taesan Singreen Apartment commercial area (태산신그린아파트 상가).
