UtsuLab: A Tufting Workshop in Anjung

UtsuLab (우츠랩) is a tufting studio based in Anjung-eup, offering one-day classes and custom-made pieces for all skill levels.

Tufting is a textile art technique that uses a tufting gun to push yarn through a fabric base, creating rugs, mirrors, wall hangings, and other decorative items. One-day classes run for approximately three hours. Participants choose their yarn colors and submit a design in advance, which the instructor prepares as a stencil on the fabric before the session. Designs can be submitted as photos or rough sketches, and the instructor, who has a fine arts background, refines them into clean stencils.

Finished pieces require an additional two to four days of processing by the studio and can be picked up in person or delivered by courier. Available class formats include tufted rugs, mirrors, and smaller decorative items. Custom orders and mobile workshop bookings are also available upon request.

The studio owner speaks English and Japanese, making it a welcoming option for a wide range of visitors. Reservations can be made via Naver Map or KakaoTalk.
