Starting today, Pyeongtaek City is launching an intensive campaign to identify residents in welfare blind spots during the summer season in preparation for potential seasonal crises.
The campaign will focus on identifying people who need assistance but are not currently receiving welfare support, households living in vulnerable environments such as jjokbang (single room accommodations) and gosiwon (small boarding rooms), and households facing potential crisis situations, including utility disconnection or other severe living hardships.
In addition to operating a dedicated task force (TF), Pyeongtaek City will work closely with Eup, Myeon, and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers, local Community Social Security Councils, and Honorary Social Welfare Officers through public private cooperation to identify residents in need.
Households identified through the campaign will receive consultations and, when eligible, will be connected to public assistance programs such as the National Basic Livelihood Security Program and Emergency Welfare Support. If necessary, they will also be linked to private sector resources to provide customized welfare services.
Campaign Period: July to August 2026 (2 months)
