This is an example image for your understanding.
A wind ventilation forest is currently being formed in Pyeongtaek city! What is a wind ventilation forest, you ask? It is a forest that will connect the outer forest with the forest downtown to induce air circulation, attracting fresh and cool air generated from the forest into the city center. It also discharges pollutants in the air, such as fine dust and heat, out of the city.
*fun fact: the Korean name is 바람길숲, which is a combination of the words baram (wind), gil (street), and soop (forest).
The design was completed between 2019 and 2020, and the construction is expected to be completed in 2021 (the forest will be formed around National Route 1 and Tongbokcheon Stream)
We hope this new forest will allow you to enjoy clean air during your stay in Pyeongtaek and relax in the nature of the wind ventilation forest. Inside the forest, themed spaces such as cultural forest and historical forest are being planned as well. These various spaces will provide a fun attraction for families to walk together and spend quality time.
Once the forest is completed, we will visit it ourselves and post a review with more information!
