Our family went to Buraksan Park on a Sunday afternoon. There were a lot of families at the park, but it was not over-crowded. My children made friend and enjoyed mingling with Korean nationals.

Our first stop was the playground. This area is accessible with strollers and is close to the parking lot. The clean bathrooms are close by as are picnic benches, bench swings, and raised platforms.

My sons enjoyed jumping on the trampolines, digging in sand, and swinging on the hammocks at the playground.

My six year old would crawl through and around the rope spiderweb and then climb up the hill and slide down. The park is intuitively built and utilizes the hillside into the playground. On the other side of the path across from the playground is a nature play area with a cargo net to climb the hill, rope bridges, and logs set into the hill. My older teenage sons enjoy exploring that area and challenge each other to balancing games.

Next to the main park is a group of exercise equipment that is easy to use and the paved trail provides a good walking loop. When you are ready to explore further there are stairs leading up to hiking trails.

The trails are not stroller friendly, but they are toddler friendly. My three year old son was able to hike the whole way. The steeper inclines have rope hand rails to help you climb and sometimes there are stairs when the mountainside gets too steep. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked. We were able to enjoy the shaded trails and great views. My 6 year old found stick bugs and bees and we were on the lookout for other wildlife.

After the initial climb there is a raised gazebo and we were sure to stop for snacks and a water break.

Along the trails in many spots there is exercise equipment. The boys loved being able to workout along the trail and we even had a Korean Grandpa stop and help my 6 year old do pull-ups.

After an afternoon of hiking and exploring we headed home and everyone slept well.

I love visiting Buraksan Park, we have gone in different seasons and each season offers a new and beautiful view of Korean mountainside. You can make this trip as long or as short as you want. The wonderful aspect of this park is how you can spend whole day or a few hours exploring. I hope to see you there!
