A great place to find fall flowers and pink muhly grass: Fall Flowers at Windbird Cafe [PIEF Foreign Reporter]

If you are searching for a new coffee shop or a great place to snap a picture of pink muhly grass, then Windbird café is the place for you! Windbird Café is a local café shop that hosts events, sells local goods, and is surrounded by multiple fields of fall flowers. The photo opportunities are endless, and it is a wonderful place to enjoy the fresh air with a coffee in hand.

The café is near a local park and has a parking lot within walking distance. If you drive your vehicle, you can utilize the lot or use nearby streets for parking if needed, since it is the café’s busy season. The entrance to the nature park’s floral fields is 2,000 won per person. The fee can be paid using cash or a card. Upon paying, a pink muhly ticket is provided with purchase and would be perfect for a scrapbook keepsake.

Pink Muhly Field

After paying the admission fee, you are free to roam around the fields for as long as you like. The first field is the beautiful pink muhly grass, also known as hairawn muhly. Muhly grass can grow anywhere from 30-90 centimeters tall and typically blooms from September to November. These photos are from October 24th and the fields were in full bloom and sporting their beautiful bright pink color. The Windbird park has multiple photo props and perfect spots throughout the fields including a small boat, a bike, rustic benches, and more.
The Perfect Photo Spot

Sunflower Fields

Next to the pink muhly field is a perfect sunny sunflower spot. Trails lead through the tall sunflowers and the blue sky creates the perfect backdrop for a photo opportunity! Although the pink grass is my favorite, these sunflower patches were a showstopper and much less crowded.

Iced Café Latte

If you happen to miss the pink muhly season or sunflower blooms, there are still multiple other patches with wildflowers and areas to enjoy your coffee indoors.  This outing would be a great place to take your family, children, a date, or even come alone! This café is in a great location as there is a nice public park down the street with a playground and lakeside walking trail. We ended our day at the cafe by ordering iced drinks. The café has a selection of hot and iced teas and coffees. I ordered the iced vanilla latte, and it was delicious! As you are making your plans for this upcoming weekend, be sure to add Windbird Café to your list.
