It is never easy moving and living in a foreign country. In hopes of lessening the burden, Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation (PIEF) conducted a demand survey earlier this year to see what the public wanted. Thanks to the great feedback, PIEF has put together an orientation program for all interested newly arrived foreign residents to Pyeongtaek to let you in on the best tips to help you ace Korean daily life and introduce you to living in Pyeongtaek.
Orientation sessions began last month and will run until November 2022 (refer to the image above for detailed schedule and topics) at PIEF’s Paengseong Center (near Camp Humphreys) and Songtan Center (near Osan AB).

Sessions will include special lectures by TV personality and YouTuber Kris Johnson and American radio host Lee Radde and related “labs” (hands-on practices/experiences). For example, next week’s session will focus on Korean transportation. In the classroom, public transportation tips and traffic laws will be covered. In correlation, staff will guide participants from point A to point B using public transportation for the lab.
If you’re interested in learning something new or want to know more about typical daily lifestyle in Korea, don’t hesitate and apply to participate in the ‘Pyeongtaek Living 101’ orientation program! To apply, fill out the Google Form through the link below.
