Independence Hall of Korea Korea’s Independence Hall’s walking trail stretches for about 3.2 kilometers, located at the far back side of the main museum. It can take roughly about an hour and a half to fully cover the path, depending on everyone’s pace. The trail is filled with a long line of beautiful maple trees to soak up the autumn colors without having to hike any steep hill or mountain. The annual fall foliage is a big draw for many to enjoy the autumn colors while getting some much-needed exercise. It is a great hit for tourists and locals alike.

Gwangdeoksa Temple - A temple seated within the height of Gwangdeoksan Mountain, which is situated between Gwangdeok-myeon, Dongnam-gu in Cheonan, and Baebang-myeon and Songak-myeon in Asan. It is famous for its gentle terrains and dense forests. Gwangdeoksa Temple is considered the largest Buddhist temple in the Gyeonggi and Chungcheong provinces. It was burned down during the Japanese invasion in 1592, however some parts were later reconstructed. The temple receives many visitors throughout the year, and it is also a producer of walnuts that are used to fabricate Cheonan’s famous walnut biscuits (or pies).

Ma-an Mountain This hilly hiking area wanders along next to Pyeongtaek Lake. Although not big in size, there is enough hill and terrain to enjoy and reminisce autumn’s natural essence and beauty from nearby.

Changjin Mountain Villa Rest Area Not only a highway rest stop but also a rural hiking area; Changjin Mountain (Goseongsan Mountain) gives direct access to extensive hiking through the mountains of Anseong near the border of Pyeongtaek. Its trails are moderately easy, with different levels of difficulty for anyone and everyone. Once reaching the top, you can even witness an amazing view of the surrounding landscape and hills.
