Have you ever wanted to do a Korean traditional-style wedding photo shoot at one of the royal palaces? Couples who wish to do so are now officially permitted to do so without any separate permission!

According to recent articles released by Korean news agencies, beginning this month, small wedding photo shoots will be freely permitted at all of Seoul’s four main palaces (Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, and Changgyeonggung Palace)!

Korea’s ‘Cultural Heritage Administration, Royal Palaces and Tombs Center’ announced their revisions to the ‘Royal Palace & Tomb Tourism & Visitation Regulations,’ stating and summarizing unnecessary regulations related to permission for photography and filming earlier this month.

Before this revision, any who wished to take any sort of wedding photos or video filming at one of the four royal palaces were required to gain permission from the palace’s management sector by an application before the filming date.

However, due to the recent popularity of wedding photography sets at Seoul’s royal palaces, a significant increase in wedding photography-related applications made a sharp increase while pointing out the realities of the approval process for in-palace wedding photo shoots’ strict rules and restrictions.

All photography or filming done by one photographer with two cameras for two main subjects (couples) is allowed without permission and should be taken within the parameters of not disturbing and causing any inconvenience to other visitors. If additional equipment becomes necessary, it is required to obtain prior permission from the palace management.
