The Pyeongtaek Police Station is increasing its efforts to combat drunk driving and traffic violations in school zones, with a special period of intensified patrols taking place until the end of May.

Sadly, there have been numerous cases of drunk driving and child fatalities in school zones all across Korea, which is why the police are taking a strong stance to prevent such accidents from happening again. They want to remind everyone that drunk driving is a serious crime that not only endangers the driver but also threatens the lives of innocent bystanders.

To get this message across, the police will be conducting round-the-clock patrols, including in areas where they anticipate drunk drivers. These patrols will cover school zones, restaurant districts, and other hotspots.

During the first weekend of the crackdown, the Pyeongtaek Police Station caught four cases of drunk driving resulting in license suspension, two cases of unlicensed driving, and 10 other major traffic violations such as signal violations. Police Director Kim Jin-tae has emphasized that the police will do everything in their power to carry out enforcement and prevention activities to prevent drunk driving and school zone traffic accidents.

As members of the Pyeongtaek community, it is important that we all strictly adhere to traffic safety rules and regulations to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. So, whether you are driving or walking, please be extra careful and mindful of others around you.

Let's work together to make our roads safer for everyone!
