Creator’s Insight: Discover Baedari Library, Your Oasis of Relaxation and Knowledge by Baedari Park

Imagine this: You're enjoying a gorgeous day at Baedari Park, surrounded by beautiful scenery, but suddenly, all you want is a cozy break indoors. No worries! An oasis awaits nearby – just head over to Baedari Library, conveniently located right next to the park!

This state-of-the-art library was constructed in 2018. Boasting over 200,000 titles, Baedari Library has something for everyone. Can't read Korean? No problem; there is also a generous selection of English books, both fiction and nonfiction, across various reading levels, from board books to novels. You can find a wide selection of literature, from classic to contemporary. There is also an extensive DVD collection as well as audiobooks available. The Pyeongtaek Library system has even implemented a book delivery service for disabled individuals called "Duruduru Service, " ensuring that even those who can't physically make it to the building can still enjoy good books for free.

But the amenities don't end with books! Stop by the library's café for some refreshment, or take your reading material onto one of the shady outdoor decks to enjoy the scenery. Baedari Library is also home to the Pyeongtaek American Corner, an initiative sponsored by the US Embassy to encourage cultural exchange and diplomacy. In the American Corner, you can find special events, seminars, and even information about educational scholarships.

The first floor is where you can find the children's section, filled with many rows of books, as well as a separate cushioned playroom.

You could truly spend your entire day enjoying the wonderful amenities of the library, and the best part? It's all free! All you need is a Korean ID to sign up for your very own library card (ARCs are valid). Don't miss out!
