On October 7, I had the pleasure of attending the ROK-U.S. Alliance 70th Anniversary Celebration in Anjeong-ri. This grand celebration, marking the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korea-U.S. mutual defense treaty in 2023, spanned two memorable days. The event took place outside the main gate of Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek.
The Anniversary Celebration featured a vibrant array of activities, including a Parade and Opening Ceremony, an impressive exhibition, a diverse range of events, and delectable food booths. What's more, entry was completely free, ensuring that everyone could revel in the joyous atmosphere without any hindrance.
From captivating pop-song and dance performances to charming flea markets, interactive survey events, and a myriad of other delightful attractions, the celebration was brimming with enjoyment. I even had the pleasure of sipping on “Pyeongtaek Water” graciously provided by Pyeongtaek City, which aims to promote the exceptional quality of tap water in the area.
The special stage hosted a ceremony to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Korea and the U.S., along with an enthralling pop song and dance contest. I was fortunate enough to partake in the Fall Fest event, a unique opportunity to visit U.S. Camp Humphreys that only comes around once a year. Needless to say, I'm eagerly anticipating next year's event.
A delightful photo zone allowed us to capture moments with U.S. soldiers, adding an extra touch of memorable experience. The event was particularly cherished by children, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.
This celebration served as the perfect platform to nurture friendships and create cherished memories. I relished in a multitude of programs, from mesmerizing shows to a diverse array of food booths, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display and engaging hands-on activities. It was an unforgettable experience!
