Pyeongtaek City to Close Testing Areas After 1,441 Days

Pyeongtaek City is set to close its three testing areas, including Pyeongtaek-Songtan Health Center and Anjung Health Sub-center by the end of this month, marking 1,441 days since their launch on January 21, 2020

Over the past four years, 2.4 million tests were administered to 4,701 citizens, averaging 4.1 tests per person in these testing areas.

A temporary measure allows eligible individuals for oral treatments (ages 60 and above, 12 and above with underlying health conditions or immunocompromised) to receive free PCR tests at designated medical institutions.

Precautionary measures, such as mandatory mask-wearing in higher-risk medical facilities and financial support for severe patient hospitalization costs, will persist. Despite the closure of testing areas, Pyeongtaek Health Center stresses the ongoing importance of COVID-19 prevention measures, especially with winter respiratory infections concurrent, maintaining a cautious crisis response level.
