PIEF Kicks Off World Culture Week with United Nations Command Cultural Week

The Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation (PIEF) is set to launch one of its major initiatives, the World Culture Week, with the first event of the year being the United Nations Command (UNC) Cultural Week. This annual event takes place twice, in June and October, dedicating one week to the celebration of different countries each time.

The UNC Cultural Week will commence on June 7 at 1:00 PM with an opening ceremony at Pyeongtaek Baedari Library. The week-long event, from June 7 to June 13, will feature a variety of cultural and experiential activities commemorating the contributions and sacrifices of 22 countries during the Korean War.

The opening ceremony will be attended by distinguished guests including the Mayor of Pyeongtaek, the deputy commander of the United Nations Command, and ambassadors from the 22 countries that participated in the Korean War.

Attendees can look forward to a rich program of cultural and experiential activities, such as exhibitions of military objects, tastings of combat rations, and hands-on experiences with military uniforms. Additionally, the event will offer cooking classes featuring cuisines from the represented countries, flag tattoo stickers, and a variety of engaging pre-event activities.

In addition to exhibitions and interactive experiences, attendees will have the chance to win prizes through pre-event activities. Don’t miss out!
