The 5th Korean-English Speech Contest


The Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation is hosting the 5th Korean-English Speech Contest. We kindly ask for your participation in this contest, which is open to both domestic and foreign residents in Korea.

1. Notes on Participation Categories
For students, the participation category is determined based on the current grade level (elementary/middle/high school).
Applicants for the English-Speaking category are restricted from participating if they have attended an international school for over a year or have resided in an English-speaking country for more than 2 years prior to the contest.
For schools where it is not possible to distinguish between elementary, middle, and high school, the participation category is determined by the year of birth:
Elementary Division (born between 2017 and 2012), Middle Division (born between 2011 and 2009), High Division (born between 2008 and 2006).
Applicants for the Korean Speaking category are restricted from participating if they are Korean nationals or hold dual citizenship including Korea.

2. Manuscript and Presentation
Please prepare a manuscript presentation of 3 minutes in length.
Submit the video of presentation in mp4, mov, or avi format.
Original works are encouraged, and participants will be disqualified from the final competition if plagiarism is found.

3. Awards
Awards and prizes from the Mayor of Pyeongtaek, the Superintendent of Gyeonggi-do Pyeongtaek Education Support Office Award, Member of Parliament, and the Chairman of Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation will be presented (subject to change depending on the progress)

4. Other Notices
Photos, audio, video recordings, etc. of participants in the final round may be used by the foundation for promotional and public purposes.
Personal information collected for the purpose of this competition will be protected in accordance with the privacy guidelines specified on the foundation's website, and the foundation may not use personal information for purposes other than those specified.
Please ensure that all materials used for participation do not infringe upon the rights of third parties, including portrait rights, moral rights, and intellectual property rights.
Awards may be revoked if the application does not meet the criteria or contains false information.
When advancing to the final round, there may be a verification process, such as requesting documents related to overseas stays.
The application period may be extended, or the schedule may be adjusted depending on the progress.
Winners are responsible for any taxes on the prizes.
