Pyeongtaek City has officially confirmed the construction of its first comprehensive city museum, following final approval in the second phase review by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on April 3.
The Pyeongtaek Museum will be built in Hambaksan Central Park, located in the Godeok International New City, with a total floor area of 7,370 square meters. The museum will consist of one basement level and three above-ground floors, and will house exhibition halls, collection storage, a digital exhibition room, and educational facilities.
This project has been in development since 2016 as part of the city’s efforts to establish a clear urban identity and enhance cultural opportunities for its citizens. Passing the second-phase review of the Local Finance Investment Project marks a significant milestone in making the museum a reality.
The Pyeongtaek Museum is expected to become a landmark cultural institution, preserving and showcasing the city’s rich history while offering a variety of educational and cultural experiences.
