This May, as spring petals drift through the breeze, the 2025 Sosabeol Dano Festival returns welcoming the community to a joyful celebration rooted in Korean tradition.
This year’s festival promises a vibrant mix of experiences and entertainment for all ages. Visitors can enjoy hands-on cultural activities such as fan-making and a traditional changpo (sweet flag) hair-washing demonstration. Special treats include a tasting of Sosabul Danoju, a traditional local liquor.
The festival stage will feature a colorful lineup of performances, including the Jindo drum dance, traditional Korean orchestral music, and cheerleading. Delicious Korean food such as gukbap, tteokbokki, and refreshing drinks will be available throughout the event.
A highlight of the day is the Citizens’ Competition, where participants join in traditional games such as nongak (farmer’s music), swing riding, neolttwigi (seesaw jumping), Korean wrestling (ssireum), and tuho (arrow throwing).
