Pyeongtaek Launches Intensive Crackdown on Drunk Driving During Summer Vacation Season

As the summer holiday season approaches and festive gatherings become more frequent, Pyeongtaek City is ramping up efforts to ensure public safety by conducting an intensive crackdown on drunk driving.

Authorities are reminding citizens that getting behind the wheel after drinking whether intoxicated or hungover is never acceptable. Driving under the influence is not just a traffic violation, but a serious crime that endangers lives.

While the number of alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities in Pyeongtaek has significantly decreased over the past three years, the city warns that complacency during the holiday period can quickly reverse this progress.

To address this, Pyeongtaek City, in cooperation with local law enforcement, is conducting random sobriety checks with no prior notice regarding time or location.

🚨 Intensive Drunk Driving Crackdown

📅 Period: July 1 (Tuesday) – August 31 (Sunday), 2025

🔍 Details: Random checkpoints will be set up across the city without warning.

Pyeongtaek City urges all residents to prioritize safety and act responsibly. Don’t let one wrong decision ruin your summer or someone else's life.
