Pyeongtaek City Animal Care Center

Pyeongtaek City officially inaugurated its City Animal Care Center in Yulbuk-ri, Cheongbuk-eup, on August 13, marking the start of full-scale operations. The ceremony was attended by around 80 guests, including Mayor Jung Jang-seon, City Council Chairman Kang Jeong-gu, provincial and city council members, and other local officials.

Previously managed by private contractors, the center is now fully operated by the city to provide better care for abandoned, lost, and abused animals. Construction of the municipal facility began in 2020 and has resulted in a 1,420㎡ center over two levels, including a basement and ground floor.

The center features offices, an animal hospital, education and adoption consultation rooms, grooming facilities, and an exercise yard, providing a safe and comfortable environment for animals.

Animal rescue and care services operate 365 days a year, with adoption consultations available until Saturdays, giving working residents easier access to adopt pets.
