A Festival of Silver Waves and Golden Sunsets: Wonpyeong Naru Reed Festival in Pyeongtaek

The city of Pyeongtaek, often called the land of sunsets, will host the Wonpyeong Naru Reed Festival after the Chuseok holiday. The festival will take place at the Sunset Ecological and Cultural Park, a vast reed field located beneath the Gunmun Bridge, offering citizens and visitors alike a chance to immerse themselves in the beauty of autumn.

The highlight of the festival lies in the breathtaking harmony of shimmering silver reeds and glowing evening skies. Wonpyeong Naru, the main stage of the event, is famously known as the inspiration for the beloved Korean children’s song “Noeul” (Sunset). Recognized as one of the Eight Scenic Views of Pyeongtaek, the site is especially captivating at dusk, when the setting sun paints the fields golden and gentle autumn breezes sweep through the reeds, creating a truly unforgettable landscape.

Visitors can look forward to a rich cultural program featuring performances by popular singers, the Pyeongtaek Mixed Choir, and local indie bands. A variety of food booths and hands-on activity programs will also be available, ensuring that people of all ages can enjoy the festivities. Among the highlights is the Reed Path Photo Zone, where the golden glow of the sunset offers the perfect backdrop for memorable photos.

Admission to the Wonpyeong Naru Reed Festival is free, making it an ideal outing for families, couples, and friends. With its silver waves of reeds and radiant autumn sunsets, the festival promises a delightful experience and lasting memories for all who attend.
