Pyeongtaek Folk Museum: A Small but Meaningful Cultural Space in Anjung

The Pyeongtaek Folk Museum (평택민속박물관), which opened in April 2025 in Anjung-eup, offers visitors a quiet and accessible glimpse into the everyday lives and traditions of Koreans throughout history. Built around a collection assembled over the past 30 years, the museum showcases a wide range of artifacts and household items dating from the Three Kingdoms period to modern times. Exhibits include traditional tools, household goods, handicrafts, foreign currencies, cassette tapes, and early mobile phones.

The museum is divided into two floors. The first floor houses the main exhibition space, while the second floor features a small lounge where visitors can relax and take a break. Photography is restricted in certain areas to help protect the exhibits. With its diverse collection, the museum appeals to visitors of all ages and provides families with children with an engaging and accessible way to learn about Korean history and culture.

Admission is charged; however, visitors who present their museum ticket at the café next door receive a 1,000 KRW discount on beverages. The café is a popular local spot featuring a bright, two-story interior, views of Songdam Neighborhood Park from the second floor, and a menu that includes coffee, juice, bread, and cakes.

Free parking is available on-site.
