Pyeongtaek will host “Wind for the World II – Echoes Over the City” on September 1, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theater of the Pyeongtaek Nambu Culture & Arts Center. The special performance brings together musicians and performers from Russia, Germany, other parts of Europe, and Korea for a unique celebration of music and cultural connection.
Centered around the accordion, the concert takes audiences on a musical journey through different traditions and styles, including classical music, Gypsy music, waltz, tango, clown performance, and a modern interpretation of Arirang. The diverse program combines instrumental performances with dance and theatrical elements, creating a dynamic experience for audiences of all ages.
The performance features accordionist and artistic director Alexander Sheikin, accordionist Park Sung-wan, violinist Vladimir Mukhinova, flutist Madeleine Popontke, double bassist Dmitry Suskin, clown performer Dmitry Polinsky, and tango performers Kim Bok-wook and Oh Eun-jin.
From the emotional melodies of Russia and the rhythms of Europe to the passion of tango and the familiar sounds of Korean Arirang, the performance brings different musical worlds together on one stage. Through these diverse performances, the artists aim to connect people, cultures, and countries through the universal language of music.
The concert is free of charge and open to audiences aged five and above. “Wind for the World II – Echoes Over the City” offers Pyeongtaek residents an opportunity to enjoy an evening of international music while experiencing how different cultures can come together through art.
