Spin Arena: Great Roller-Skating Rink to Visit with Kids

Roller skating rinks are back in vogue with the retro wave sweeping Korea. It was popular among the youth in Korea in the 1980s to go roller skating and enjoy music. Many new rinks have opened to revive the atmosphere from those times. There’s also one in Pyeongtaek that’s great to go with kids. Spin Arena is an indoor roller-skating rink, which makes it perfect for hanging out in winter.

When you enter the rink on the first basement floor, fancy lights will welcome you as the upbeat music fills the air. Admission is 8,000 won for children and 10,000 for adults, including roller skate rentals. Middle school students and under are considered “children,” and the adult rate applies to high school students and older. If you bring your own skates, the rate is 6,000 won for children and 8,000 won for adults. It includes three initial hours in the arena.

Visitors may also pay ahead in bulk for 10 visits or a month. The admission for 10 visits is 60,000 won for children and 80,000 won for adults. The month-long tickets cost 80,000 won for children and 100,000 won for adults. If you use your own skates, 10,000 won is discounted from the month-long ticket.

The track in the rink also has long benches on the sides, convenient for catching a short break when you’re tired in the middle of skating. They also offer a variety of snacks to enjoy when you’re hungry.

Spin Arena operates from 1 pm to 9 pm on weekdays, from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends. Their peak time is between 12 pm and 5 pm on weekends, so we recommend visiting on weekdays or in the evening.
