Near Pyeongtaek station, there are many board game cafes where you can have fun at affordable prices. Out of all of them, we’d like to introduce you to the ‘Gonganeui Gongam’ today. It opens at noon and closes when all the guests leave at night. The cafe is closed on Mondays.
Basic entrance fee is 3,000 KRW, and an unlimited all-day pass is only 10,000 KRW. This all-day pass is only offered on weekdays. You can order various coffee and desserts, and each guest must order at least one drink.
They have many different types of board games that you can play, as many are in English. If you don’t know how to play, just look it up on YouTube or Google. Gongganeui Gonggam also has darts, if you’re interested in playing. Let us introduce two games that you can play here.
The first game is Dobble. Divide the cards among each player, then count to three as everyone flips a card open. If the symbol on your card matches someone else’s, you say the name of the symbol and give that card to the person. Repeat the process until someone runs out of all the cards. Whoever runs out of the card first becomes the winner.
Next is Da Vinci Code. Three players start by drawing four tiles each. Keep the rest of the tiles faces down. Align the tiles so that the numbers are in ascending order, and if the white and black tiles have the same number, the white tile comes first on the left side. When it’s your turn, draw a new tile and place it according to the numeric order as you guess numbers from someone else’s tiles. If you guessed right, you can flip the opponent’s tile open. If you’re wrong, the tile one of your own tiles need to be flipped open. The person who has many unflipped tiles until the very end is the winner.
They have many more games that you can enjoy. Go ahead and check them out!
