Trains and buses are the major ways to visit other regions in Korea. Trains include express trains such as KTX and SRT, as well as Mugunghwa-ho, Saemaeul-ho, and ITX. Last time, we introduced how to ride SRT. Today, let's find out about KTX.
The difference between the two is that SRT is operated by a private company, and KTX is managed by a public enterprise. The speed of trains, seating sizes, and prices are primarily the same. If your destination is Seoul, SRT is more convenient for visiting the Gangnam area, and KTX is more accessible for Seoul Station.
KTX visits several places in Korea, including Seoul, Cheonan, Daegu, and Busan.
*In Pyeongtaek, there is an SRT station nearby.

KTX tickets can be purchased on the KORAIL Talk app or the website. It's quite easy to reserve tickets since both provide English services. KORAIL also sells KORAIL Pass for foreigners who are visiting temporarily. They offer a 5-day consecutive pass and flexible passes for 2 or 4 days (must be used within 10 days) for standard seats on all trains.
The expiration for flexible passes is 10 days from the first date of using the service. For more information, please check the KORAIL website below.
