As you may have experienced from pubs and sul-jib’s frequented by Koreans, food (a.k.a. anju) is always accompanied when drinking; a rare sight in the U.S.! Anju menus are consisted of pasta, rice dishes, salads, and pizza. Some light appetizer menus such as fries, nachos and Gambas al Ajillo are also available. For those who are not much of a drinker, they offer coffee, smoothies, and various ade drinks.

Once you have selected your menu of choice, pick your favorite drink from their wide selection: cocktails, wine, soju, beer and liquor (note: vodka and whiskey are sold by bottles or shots). There are many choices when it comes to a drink, but allow us to recommend a drink available only in Korea: SOTONIC. Sotonic is a combination of soju, tonic water, and lemons (sweet sparkling of tonic water mixed in with hint of refreshing lemons is one of Koreans sure favorite drink mixers). If you would like to try sotonics, 1987 Rooftop & Lounge has a So-To sets so you are good to go.

Here is how you make a sotonic:

1) Fill a cup with ice along with your desired amount of soju and tonic water (the suggested golden ratio is 1:1 or 1:2).
*Feel free to customize your alcohol ratio to your satisfaction
2) Put a finishing touch by dropping a fresh lemon and mixing your drink well.
3) Enjoy!

If you are still a novice to soju, Sotonic might be ready to become your favorite drink.

1987 Rooftop & Lounge has doors open from 17:00 to 02:00 on Sunday through Thursday, and 17:00 to 03:00 on Friday and Saturday. However due to current pandemic social-distancing measures in place, the operation hours are shortened till 22:00 daily. If you drove, you will be provided 4-hour parking on-site.
