Two Wheels of Happiness 2: Free Bicycle Rentals

Pyeongtaek has great bicycle roads. The trails stretch along streams such as Anseongcheon, Jinwicheon, Tongbokcheon, and Osancheon. You can ride your own bikes or opt for free bicycle rentals offered by Pyeongtaek City (the city currently operates two bicycle rental shops called Dubakwiui Haengbok or Two Wheels of Happiness).

The first shop was opened at Tongbokcheon in October of 2019 and the second was opened in October 2020. Today’s article will feature the second shop, so if you need more information on the first shop, please follow the link provided below!

The second shop has a large parking lot, so it is perfect to drive to, park and rent a bicycle. You can rent a bike for free by leaving a photo ID such as your ID card, passport or driver’s license at the shop.

There is also a wide range of bicycles to choose from. There are tandem bicycles, bikes that you can ride with your child, and bicycles for children. There are also helmets, so make sure to wear it while riding! When riding a bike in Pyeongtaek, you are automatically subscribed to a bicycle insurance, and it covers up to 30 million KRW. The insurance applies if the address in your resident registration is in Pyeongtaek or if you are a foreigner with residence registered in Pyeongtaek.

Bicycle rentals are available from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and it is closed every Monday. You can use the bicycle as long as you want on weekdays, but on weekdays, rentals are limited to two hours due to the high demand. Ride on the bicycle roads to see the various spring flowers and make great memories with your children!
