Korean Traditional markets sell a wide range of items including foods, daily necessities, and etc. There are many foods and fresh ingredients that can be purchased at relatively low prices. There are many vendors in Korean traditional markets that accept credit cards, but still some of them accept cash only. Thus, it would be a good idea to bring some cash when visiting a traditional market!
Songtan Market offers free parking for 1 hour and 30 minutes. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, you will be charged of 500KRW for up to 2 hours and 1,000KRW for up to 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you park longer than that, you will be charged extra 300KRW. Please note that electric vehicles can get a 50% discount on parking.
The most famous snack at Songtan Market is the fish-shaped bun with sweet fillings called ‘Bungeobbang!’ It is so delicious that it was even featured on a famous TV show! Many people stop by Songtan Market to try Bungeobbang. It costs 1,000 KRW for two pieces and they accept cash only!
There are other delicious foods such as fish cakes, hotteok (sweet Korean pancake), fried chicken, jokbal (pig feet), and more. So come and try various Korean food at the Songtan Market!
Songtan Market is open when the date of the month ends with 4 or 9 (i.e. Sep 4, 9, 14, 19, 24, 29). Remember that you have to come to the market on the aforementioned days to enjoy all of the delicious food and fun.
