A Painting Café for All Ages: A Cup of Painting [PIEF Foreign Reporter]

This month we went to a local art café called A Cup of Painting. There are a few options to choose from when you go to this café. You can choose to paint a realistic painting with acrylic paint or a template of a classic painting to put your own spin on. I brought three of my sons with me on this adventure so we chose to re-paint classic paintings. With each person painting you receive a free drink, my boys chose chocolate milk and I ordered lemonade. I loved my minty lemonade with a heart shaped straw and my boys enjoyed the unique chocolate milk with extra chocolate crumbles.

We were able to quickly get started on our paintings. We chose an apron to keep our clothes clean and they provided arm protectors to keep your sleeves clean as well. When we went to our art stations each group of 2 easels had their own cart filled with paint, different sized paint brushes, and water. Each painter was given a pallet to mix their own paint on and they were able to be creative with the color mixing.

While we were painting we were surprised with extra service and we were given a jelly and butter panini sandwich. It was a great snack to keep my little artists engaged in their work. I chose to order some honey bread with cream as well and it was delicious.

I loved the different takes on each painting and how creative they were. As the boys finished painting the owner helped to dry the paint and rolled the paintings and put them into cardboard tubes for safe transport. We were also given free beaded rings as a little extra service as we were about to leave.

A Cup of Painting is a great place to go to get your hands on some paint and just have a creative afternoon or evening. The afternoon seemed to be a better time to have kids accompany you for painting. The evenings, had quite a few couples come in for an adventurous date night.

The cost of painting in this café is 23,000 Won and if you bring a child and they need help the cost is 30,000 won However my sons aged 6-12 were able to paint on their own.
