Many foreigners in Pyeongtaek are familiar with what we call the 4/9 market or the 3/8 market because those are the days that more vendors are present. Well, I got the chance to visit the Seojeongri Traditional Market or what would probably be nicknamed the 2/6 market.

Main area of market |
Near Godeok City next to the Seojeongri Station is a traditional market. The market is open every day, but on day’s that end in 2 and 6 the vendors are out in full force. They are selling a variety of foods, meats, locally grown veggies, seafood, clothing and other items! We visited on an off day during the week but there were still a number of vendors that were out selling their items.

There was a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that are fresh and being sold for a much lower price than you will find in the local grocery stores. They had many food vendors who were out selling traditional Korean market food.

Tteokbokki and Pigs Feet |
We decided to stop at one vendor and try the tteokbokki and Korean pigs feet which I had never tried. Both were delicious and incredibly affordable for eating a meal out. The tteokbokki was spicy and not too sweet, and the pigs feet came with a salty shrimp sauce which made it 10/10!

I’m excited to come back whenever I need to buy some groceries on the days ending in 2 or 6!
