How to Drive Safe in the Snow

In Korea, you can easily find snow when winter comes. Today, we will take a look at how to drive safe on snowy roads! You need to be extra careful when driving on snowy and frozen roads as the roads can get very slippery.

First, before driving, remove all the snow covering your vehicle! It is especially important to check that all taillights, headlights, windows and windshields are clear and not covered in snow. There are some people who drive a car after clearing just a part of snow from the front and side windows. However, it is a very dangerous way to drive and can cause big car accidents!

It is also important to put some snow chains on your tires. There are several types of snow chains. Check out the strengths and weaknesses of each chains and purchase one that matches to your tires! The first type of snow chains is the steel chain. The price of the steel chain is cheaper than other types but it is still very durable. However, people who are inexperienced of putting chain on tires might have difficulties using them. In addition, due to chains, the ride quality won’t feel like as smooth as before.

The second type is the textile snow chain, which is made of fabric. It is easy to attach the chain on tires and does not disturb the ride quality very much. However, compared to other types, it is slightly more expensive and can be broken easily. The third type is the spray chain. It is the most commonly used chain due to the reasonable price, easy installment, and fine ride quality.

The fourth type is the spider chain. Although it is more expensive than other types, you cannot really complain about the price as it can be used semi-permantently. If there’s any problem, simply replace several broken components. The last type is the spray chain. The charm of spray chain appears very vividly when driving in unexpected snows. You can simply spray the liquid on tires and that is it! Although you have to spray the tires every two hours, it can be still considered as an easy way to prevent skidding or slide.

When driving in the snow, drive slowly with your headlights on and keep a safe distance from the car in front of yours. Be extra careful when drifting or stopping the car fast. Another trick is to drive along the tire marks left behind by other cars. Also, to prevent foggy windows, it is also recommended to apply some anti-fog products!

We hope that you drive safe in the snow and have a happy holiday! :)
