Did you know there is ‘Media Art Night Theme Park’ at Naeri Culture Park in Paengseong-eup (near Camp Humphreys’ Yoon Gate)? Starting October 15, Pyeongtaek city started their ‘Light Walk,’ motif starring the traditional Korean 'Goblin' tale.
This traditional tale is said to have been passed down through long-residing Paengseong-eup residents, based on a mischievous goblin who would creep into kitchens after the fall of night to loudly clang pot lids to annoy old villagers purposely.
The theme park’s ‘Light Walk’ is shown as a realistic exhibition of media art created by adding 3D stereoscopic images along with special sound effects.
The exhibit walk features the tale’s main character, ‘Dal’ known to live in the Pyeongtaek River, along with ‘Kkaebi’ the goblin, and how they accidentally discover a hidden door within Naeri Culture Park, leading to the mysterious goblin world.
Jeong Jang-sun, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, stated, "We hope that the night theme park’s ‘Light Walk’ will provide an assortment of different attractions to residents and visitors and revitalize the local commercial districts around the Naeri Tourism Site (Nari Culture Park).“
