Noodle Delights Await at Bapbodaguksi

Bapbodaguksi translates to noodles over rice. If you have ever eaten at Bapbodaguksi, you know you will leave thinking of only their noodles!

This charming restaurant in Pyeongtaek offers just four dishes on its menu, each a delicious noodle dish. My personal favorites that have kept me coming back time and time again are their kalguksu and kongguksu. Kalguksu is a hot noodle dish with knife-cut noodles, potato balls, and a savory broth. Kalguksu is the perfect hearty dish to warm your soul; I can compare it best to a delicious bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup like your mom would make for you when you were under the weather. Kongguksu is a cold noodle dish consisting of soy milk broth and delicious knife-cut noodles topped with a boiled egg and fresh tomato. With the kongguksu, you can choose to have it sweet or salty, adding sugar or salt to it if desired.

The friendly couple at Bapbodaguksi makes their own kimchi that goes most perfectly with all of their dishes. The atmosphere of this restaurant is welcoming, clean and cozy. You can choose between sitting at a table and chairs or on the floor with comfortable pillows for seats. During the winter, their floors are heated in traditional fashion, making it the perfect getaway from any storm. During the summer, their restaurant is kept cool and an ideal place to relax and cool down with some delectable chilling kongguksu.

For any K-pop fans, you might even have a chance to sit and dine in the presence of a real K-pop idol because the owner’s daughter is the leader of the group Girls Alert! Even with such a famous daughter, you will always be greeted with smiles, incredible kindness, and a sense of being welcomed home when you enter this restaurant. Bapbodaguksi is a must-visit for your next summer meal.
