Voluntary Departure Program for Undocumented Foreigners in Korea (Sept 30 - Nov 30, 2024)


The Korean government has announced a voluntary departure program for undocumented foreigners, running from September 30, 2024, to November 30, 2024.

Eligible Participants:
Undocumented foreigners who voluntarily leave Korea during this period.
Foreigners who became undocumented after September 30, 2024, are not eligible for this program.

Exclusions:
Individuals who entered the country illegally.
Those who have used forged or altered passports.
Criminal offenders or individuals who have failed to comply with previous deportation orders.

Benefits of Voluntary Departure:
Undocumented foreigners who voluntarily leave Korea will be exempt from fines.
Entry bans will be temporarily suspended for those who voluntarily depart.
This exemption also applies to minors under 17 years of age if they are accompanied by their guardians during voluntary departure.

Application Process:
Eligible individuals must report their voluntary departure at least three days in advance (excluding holidays).
Required documents include a passport, voluntary departure report, and flight ticket.

This initiative provides an opportunity for undocumented foreigners to leave Korea without facing significant penalties, encouraging compliance with immigration regulations.
